The Peoples Democratic Party governorship candidate in Oyo state Engr. Seyi Makinde Wednesday caused jubilation as he donated a 15 KVA Mikano generator worth millions of naira to the town hall in Igboho, headquarters of Orelope local government area of the state.
The donation was in fulfilment of a promise made by the PDP governorship candidate when he visited the town recently.
The generating set was warmly received by PDP members in Orelope local government who were hosting Engr. Raufu Olaniyan, the party’s deputy governorship candidate. The meeting abruptly came to an end once the Mikano truck conveying the generating set arrived at the venue of the meeting.
PDP Members in Orelope insisted that the Deputy Governorship Candidate Engr. Raufu Olaniyan join a lengthy convoy of cars, accompanied by hundreds of motor cyclist popularly known as Okada riders as they traveled round major city of the the town, enroute the town hall. Other PDP candidates who were in the convoy included Michael Ogunlade house of representatives candidate for Orelope, Olorunsogo and Irepo federal constituency, and Hon. Ayawu house of assembly candidate for Orelope state constituency.
Shouts of PDP rang through the air as the convoy proceeds. Residents came out in their numbers to express appreciation for the donation made by Engr. Seyi Makinde.
Earlier, the Deputy Governorship candidate met with members of Nigeria Tailors Association,Orelope local government chapter, where he urged them to support Engr. Seyi Makinde, who he described as a God fearing man, that has genuine interest of the masses at heart. He assured them that a vote for Seyi Makinde is a vote for a brighter future.
